Nestled in the heart of the Alps, Lake Annecy is one of the purest and most beautiful lakes in Europe. From the city of Annecy in the south to Doussard, each lakeside village has its own unique character and treasures waiting to be discovered.
Annecy kicks things off with its famous Pont des Amours, its medieval castle overlooking the old town, and its turquoise-watered canals. Heading up the east bank, Veyrier-du-Lac offers breathtaking views from Mont Veyrier, making it ideal for hikers seeking panoramic vistas.
On the west bank, Sévrier invites you to take a stroll along the waterfront before delving into the mysteries of the Gorges du Fier, a spectacular canyon carved into the rock. Further south, Saint-Jorioz and its beach attract families and swimmers, while the Semnoz towers over the landscape from its snow-capped peaks in winter.
On the other side of the lake, Menthon-Saint-Bernard is home to a fairytale castle overlooking the water, not far from the Angon Waterfall and the Saint-Germain Hermitage. Talloires, renowned for its fine dining and the beauty of its bay, is one of the most photographed sites in Haute-Savoie. Finally, Duingt and its castle on the water mark the entrance to the small lake, before reaching Doussard and the marshes of the Iffig Delta, a paradise for birds and nature lovers.
